When missing a tooth, the last thing a patient wants to do is make several trips to the dentist office. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could get better results and make less trips to the dentist office if you needed a dental crown? With the latest advances in dental technology, now you can!
Traditionally, the dental crown procedure requires two or three visits over several weeks. At the first visit, the dentist would prepare the tooth by removing a small amount of the natural tooth structure to accommodate the dental crown. Then he would make a mold of the tooth that would be sent to a dental lab where the crown was fabricated. Your dentist would fit you for a temporary restoration that you would have to wear for weeks until your final crown was ready.
Now, thanks to CEREC technology (the short term for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics), we can offer you same day porcelain restorations. There is no need to walk around with a temporary restoration and no need to return to our dental practice. Crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays can be fabricated in minutes and placed on the tooth in just one visit.
The Benefits of CEREC Technology

Innovative Technology For Same Day Crowns
How Does CEREC Technology Work?
There are several parts to the CEREC process: the chair side 3-D impressions, computer design of the restoration, and the fabrication of the restoration. With the CEREC system, Dr. Buckle will first take a digital impression of your tooth. This involves scanning your teeth with a 3-D camera. This image is then sent to a computer and then, using sophisticated software, the dentist is able to manipulate the tooth and design a crown that will fit perfectly. The specifications for your restoration are sent to a milling machine within our practice where it will be created while you wait. The dental crown is fabricated using high quality, tooth coloured materials and can be placed on the same visit.
