Orthodontic treatment provides a wide range of oral health benefits and can improve a patients quality of life. Straight teeth help patients restore their natural, beautiful smiles- restoring their confidence to smile. Buckle Advanced Dental Care provides orthodontic treatment options for patients seeking to realign their bite and straighten crooked teeth.
Traditional braces can help patients with complex orthodontic concerns enjoy a straighter, healthier smile.
Advantages of Braces
Straight teeth prevent the development of dental problems and bite disorders. Misaligned teeth and malocclusion are often the underlying cause of complex conditions like TMJ. Crooked teeth can also cause excessive wear, cracks or breakage to the teeth. Our highly trained Buckle dentists help patients achieve a functional bite through orthodontic treatment.
Traditional metal braces help patients address complex malocclusion and straighten crooked teeth. Patients with advanced orthodontic needs may require conventional braces for optimal results. Today’s braces have more aesthetic options that offer patients a more discreet approach to straightening their teeth with braces. We offer ceramic, clear and tooth-colored brackets for a more subtle appearance.
Every patient will receive a comprehensive orthodontic exam. Your dentist will help you choose the best orthodontic treatment to address your concerns and achieve your most beautiful smile.
How Do Braces Work?
Braces are made up of three or four components. The first is the bracket. The second is the glue that we will use to attach the brackets to your teeth. The third is the wire that runs from each bracket, connecting them to each other. The last is the elastic that is used for people with bite issues.
Metal braces are fixed to the front of teeth and are used to guide the teeth into a planned position. The brackets are fixed to the teeth and then linked together with a fine wire. By applying continuous pressure over a period of time, they will slowly move your teeth into a better position. Patients return to the dentist about every eight weeks for alteration and adjustments. Adjustments will tighten the wire helping to shift teeth into alignment gradually. Patients will wear fixed braces typically for 18 months but treatment time will vary depending on the complexity of your orthodontic concerns. Traditional braces make it possible for people with bite issues, crowded teeth, crooked teeth, gaps in between teeth to attain a healthy, attractive smile.
