Infected tooth? Let's get to the root of it.
When infection reaches a tooth’s inner pulp, it’s a recipe for misery and pain.
The initial sensitivity to hot and cold associated with infection can soon turn into severe toothache and a throbbing abscess that seems to affect the whole face.
Infected pulp can also cause discolouration of the tooth and persistent, pimple-like sores on the gum.
If you suffer from any of these, you probably don’t need us to warn you not to wait around before seeking treatment.
You'll be relieved to know Buckle Advanced Dental Care's endodontics team has the experience and skill to save your tooth - and your sanity - with a painless root canal treatment.
Deep inside the tooth is a pulp comprised of blood vessels and sensitive nerves. If the pulp becomes infected, it could die, leaving a pus-filled pocket or abscess at the tooth's root. The condition is the cause of several unpleasant and painful symptoms.
If you are living with any of these symptoms, it goes without saying that you’ll want to seek fast treatment.
As dentists, we want to preserve teeth whenever we can. Root canal treatment allows us to do just that when the tooth’s inner pulp is dead or infected - by removing the pulp and leaving the tooth where it should be.
The process is simple.
We begin with an X-ray to give us a clear picture of the infected site before drilling a tiny hole in the tooth to access the pulp inside. We'll remove any infected material and give the inside of the tooth a thorough clean. A dental sealant is then used to fill the interior of the tooth and the hole resealed.
If you have an abscess or infected pulp, you may feel there’s little to smile about. But you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that root canal surgery’s reputation as one of dentistry’s least comfortable treatments is wholly undeserved.
You'll be under local anaesthetic throughout the procedure, so the only thing you'll feel is an immense sense of relief. And our team is experienced at putting even the most nervous of patients at ease.
If you are suffering from accesses or pain and suspect you may need root canal treatment, leave it to the Wirral’s most experienced dental team to put it right painlessly.
